Our next sweater class will be The Weekender by Andrea Mowry. There are several pattern variatons available on Ravelry and you may choose any of the following for this class.
The Weekender Light is knit using fingering yarn, on US #2, #4 & #5 needles. Our Walkabout, Studio Sox or Studio Smitten yarn are perfect for this project.
The Weekender is knit using worsted weight yarn on US #7, #8 & #9 needles Our Studio Sample was knit using Studio Worsted Tweed in Natural, we also have a sample in Sage.
The Weekender Crew is knit using DK weight yarn on US #4 & #6 needles. This version has a crew neck and pockets. Our Studio DK would be perfect for this project.
Please purchase and print the pattern prior to the first class.
These sweaters are knit from the bottom up, you may choose to knit a split hem or not.
In this class you will learn:
- Bottom up knitting.
- Split hem construction.
- Reverse stockinette.
- Slipped center stitches.
- 3-needle bindoff.
Four sessions: Saturday, February 28, March 14, 28 and April 11, 2026

Please note: Please purchase supplies and yarn prior to the first class. Students who would like custom dyed yarn for this project, please visit the shop at least a week prior to the first class to give our dyers time to dye and dry your custom order. Students taking the class receive a 15% discount on all class supplies/yarn.

Homework:
Please make a guage swatch, blocked and dried prior to the first class. Gauge is important...by getting the right gauge and needle size you're garment will fit your size selected.
