Our Nantahala color way was dyed with the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair (2017) in Fletcher, NC in mind. This fiber festival takes place at the end of October and is in a particularly beautiful and colorful part of the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.
Nantahala (our color namesake) is Cherokee for "Land of the Noonday Sun." The Nantahala National Forest is also located in the Smokies. This area has richly-hued autumn foliage with crystal bright waters, which feed into Fontana Lake. For you Game of Thrones lovers, this color way IS "the song of fire and ice."
For those of you looking for a new project, we love Laura Aylor's new shawl pattern called Touchstone, which is currently a free download on Ravelry here.
