The Chance of Showers cardigan is designed to give you the best of all worlds: it has a simple lace edging like a beautiful shawl, but provides the wearability of a cardigan. It’s basic enough to wear every day, and pretty enough to wear over your best dress.
It is knit in one piece from the top down, with a circular yoke and short rows to shape the front sections. The collar stitches are picked up and knit in the end. Instructions for lengthening the cardigan are given in the pattern. Suitable for a knitter with some experience.
While the pattern calls for a sport weight yarn (we love our SW Merino - Sport for this project), it can also be knit with our Merino Bamboo - Fingering on a larger needle. Your finished project will require a little extra yardage and will be a little more open and airy, but still quite beautiful and with a gorgeous drape.
