5190 Miles - Patterns

Regular price $6.25 Sale

Designed by Melanie Berg, 5190 Miles is how far it is from Portland, Oregon to Bonn, Germany. The shell pattern evokes the urban landscape of roads, rivers, and bridges, and the two halves of this asymmetrical triangle shawl are inverted in color.

Streaks of each color dart through the other half — just how thoughts of one city might tug at your mind while you’re in another. The maker might knit this in the colors of his/her two favorite cities as a reminder that no matter how far apart they are, everything is interwoven.

This shawl pattern requires about 1085 yards of fingering-weight yarn and is perfect for two 4-ounce skeins of SW Merino - Fingering or possibly even combined with a 4-ounce skein of Fifty Shades of Gradient™.
