Collection: Unity KAL

To show our solidarity with the people of Ukraine, The Fibre Studio has created the Unity KAL.  We have created kits which include yarn dyed in the national colors of Ukraine, a pattern we can work on together and a weekly Zoom. All proceeds from kit sales will go to UNICEF.

The pattern is the Progression Sideways shawl by Holly Kent of HEK Of A Knit.  It is an asymmetrical shawl knit in garter stitch.  It starts with a stretch of main color knitting and finishes with bands of short-row petals to form a colorful border.  Although the pattern calls for three colors, we've chosen to use only the two colors of the Ukrainian flag.  Our kit includes a code that allows you to download the pattern for free.

The yarn is our Studio Fingering dyed in a deep Sky Blue and a Sunflower Yellow.  Each kit includes one 113g | 4.0 oz skein (approximately 560 yards) for the Main Color and one 56g | 2.0 oz skein (approximately 280 yards) for the Contrasting Color.  We will offer two variants:

* Unity 1: Sky Blue as the MC with Sunflower Yellow as the CC; and

* Unity 2: Sunflower Yellow as the MC and the Sky Blue as the CC.

We're starting a weekly Zoom beginning March 16, 2022 so we may knit this project together as a community.  It will be each Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
